It shows that the universe is made up of five percent normal matter, twenty-seven percent dark matter, and sixty-eight percent dark energy. Dark matter and energy are still mysterious substances that we cannot observe directly but have been postulated based on the observed cosmic microwave background radiation.

 

One of the most significant accomplishments in understanding the universe’s structure was the Hubble Space Telescope, launched in 1990. The Hubble has revolutionized astronomy by providing crisp images of galaxies, stars, and other celestial objects that were previously impossible or very difficult to observe from Earth.
